BACKGROUND
Metal two-seater designed by Chris Heinz
and Pierre Robin.
In production at Dijon 1971 to 1980 and at Lachute, Canada from
1980 to 1984. Production restarted at Dijon mid-1993 and ceased
2004.
Production line and worldwide sale rights sold to Alpha Aviation
at Hamilton, New Zealand in late 2004.

HR200/100 & -100S named 'Club' with 108 hp Lycoming O-235-H2C
engine
HR200/120 & -120B not named, with 128 hp Lycoming O-235-L2A
engine
HR200/160 named 'Acrobin' with 160 hp Lycoming O-320-D engine
In the range c/n 109-211 = Modified with
larger tail-fin
R2100 & 2100A not named or 'Club' with 108 hp Lycoming
O-235-H2C engine
R2112 named 'Alpha' with 112 hp Lycoming O-235-L2A engine
R2160& 2160D named 'Alpha Sport' (mainly in France) or
'Acrobin' (mainly export in Europe). With 160 hp Lycoming
O-320-D2A engine
R2160 named 'Sport' built by Avions Pierre Robin Inc at Lachute, Quebec, Canada and sold to Canada/USA/Australia/Caribbean. With 160 hp Lycoming O-320-D2A engine (c/n 181-185, 193-211 - note that 186-192 were completed at Dijon before 181-185).
Those built in Canada and sold to Australia are consistently registered there with a C prefix to the c/n, but this does not appear on the Canadian-built aircraft registered in any other country.
Restarted production at Dijon in 1993
from c/n 250. Ceased 2004, last one built at Dijon was c/n 378.
HR200/120B not named
R2160i version with 160 hp fuel-injected Lycoming AEIO-320-D2B
engine, introduced 1999
R2120U not named - updated model from late 2000
R2160 & 2160D & 2160i mainly not named, a few listed as
'Alpha Sport'
With all models, suffix D had German silencing mods.
The constructor is listed as Avions Pierre Robin until mid-1997, then by CAB, then from about 2002 by Apex.
In late 2004 the production line, design
authority and worldwide rights were sold to Alpha Aviation in New
Zealand. See end of part 2.
